How to Use Metal Corner Bead: Step-by-Step

1. Measure and Cut

   • Measure the height of the drywall corner where you want to install the corner bead.

   • Use tin snips or metal shears to cut the metal corner bead to the correct length.

2. Prepare the Drywall Corner

   • Make sure the drywall edges forming the corner are clean and properly secured.

   • Remove any dust or debris for better adhesion.

3. Attach the Corner Bead

   There are different types of metal corner beads:

   • Nail-On Corner Bead: Has small holes along the edges for nailing.

   • Screw-On Corner Bead: Uses drywall screws for attachment.

   • Adhesive or Mesh Backed: Comes with a mesh backing to embed in joint compound.

   For nail-on or screw-on:

   • Align the metal corner bead flush with the drywall corner.

   • Use drywall nails or screws every 8 to 12 inches along both edges to secure it tightly.

   • Make sure it is straight and firmly attached.

4. Apply Joint Compound (Mud)
